Teamwork

Teamwork supports and encourages players to work together to increase the success of their individual actions.

To encourage groups to support each other, the teamwork option extends the normal rules for a character's turn to add a special reaction. Once per round, during any other player's turn, a player who has not yet used their character's teamwork reaction, can use it to perform a teamwork option.

Options

Teamwork reactions can be used for the following options.

ASSIST: Add a relevant asset to the action roll of another player. This might represent sharing knowledge, assisting with a relevant background or skill, or sharing a tool. Assistance must be provided before the action roll is performed.

PROTECT: Intercept a negative consequence resulting from another player's action roll. This might be attempting to push the other character out of harm's way or shielding them from a blow. Protection is provided after the action roll has been performed.

Up to two players can assist or protect another player for any action roll.

Using Teamwork

During another player's turn, any player can offer teamwork to assist or protect. The player offering teamwork should describe how they can provide assistance. If the receiving player and the host approve, the use of teamwork can proceed.

EXAMPLE: COUNTERSPELL

Features can also be used to boost teamwork. Features can be written to use a teamwork reaction as a valid limit and describe how it effects assist or protect teamwork options.

COUNTERSPELL

You are trained in the skill of arcane dueling. When you use your teamwork reaction to protect another player by using a magical asset to counter a spell effect, you block the effect of any negative consequence.
