Equipment

Equipment is a special class of machines or technology that players use and control such as vehicles, vessels, computer systems, and other technological or industrial devices.

Equipment extends the capabilities of individual characters or the entire group.

Defining Equipment

Equipment is created as a non-player character using the same core character elements (resources, assets, features, and conditions) used for all character types.

When defining equipment, create and describe assets for how the equipment can be used by player characters. In the above example, a muscle car provides a simple Drive asset allowing the car to be driven by a player character.

Equipment can also have features that boost their capability. Features for equipment are written using the same standard rules used for creating features for any character.

Using Equipment

When characters acquire control of equipment, they combine the equipment's resources, assets, and features with their own character assets when performing actions. Any equipment assets used for the roll also becomes a target for any consequences from the result.

Conditions can be applied to equipment used in action a roll, and players can spend downtime resources to add boons and resolve banes like normal characters.
