Heroic Actions

Allow a character to temporarily overcome incapacitation, risking death in a desperate bid for fame and glory.

Character death in the game is always a player's choice and a risk they must willingly accept. Whenever a player chooses to push their character beyond normal limits, they can opt to perform a Heroic Action.

A Heroic Action allows a character to temporarily ignore the effects of incapacitating conditions for one turn, embodying their gritty determination in a desperate life-or-death bid for glory. If the Action Roll succeeds (mostly or completely), the character survives and can proceed to apply the positive consequences of their action. However, if the Action Roll fails (mostly or completely), the character dies. The player can then narrate their character's heroic demise and proceed to design a replacement character.

There are no restrictions, beyond the risk of death, on when or how often a player may choose to perform a Heroic Action to overcome incapacitation.
